Circuit Description Silverstone is a converted WW2 airfield, which hosted the British GP for the 1st time in 1950. Aside from the odd occasion, Silverstone has hosted the British GP every year ever since. For years the circuit was the fastest on the GP calendar, and although it has been slowed down somewhat in recent years, it is still among the fastest and most demanding circuits in the world.
