General Notes

The Alpine Adventure is a driving event that takes in the best Alpine passes in Switzerland and Italy, as well as the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. It is open to all makes, types and age of car.

IT IS NOT A RACE, RALLY OR TIME TRIAL. There are no time constraints or destination arrival deadlines. It is intended primarily to be a fun, social driving experience where like minded petrolheads can get away from it all by driving, dining and telling each other far fetched stories about their cars, their daily exploits and past adventures and encounters. Couples are welcome as is a casual dress code!

The Price

£2,000 per car (£1,000 per person) based on 2 drivers sharing accommodation (£1,900 for CD Tour returnees). A £500 deposit can be paid online or by calling the booking office on 01302 743827.

The balance is due by Friday 26th July. We will be taking bookings after this date should there still be availability.

Itinerary

Fri 6 September (Ashford - Lucerne)
The initial meeting and registration will take place at the Ashford International Hotel, Ashford. Following a drivers briefing we will drive to the Eurotunnel terminal for the channel crossing, followed by a drive south via various superb French and Swiss motorway roads, to our evening one destination, the fantastic Schloss Hotel Golden Gate overlooking Lake Lucerne.

Sat 7 September (Lucerne - Alpine Passes - St Moritz)
The morning will be spent driving the world’s best Alpine passes, including the Julier pass, en route to St Moritz. An afternoon driving the Stelvio, Bormio and Umbrail passes will precede an evening relaxing at the hotel High Alpine Spa or a drink or two in St Moritz town, which may see us into Sunday morning. For evening two we will be staying at the truly majestic 5* Kempinski Grand Hotel Des Bains in St Moritz.

Sun 8 September (St Moritz - Monza - Lake Varese)
Another morning driving the Alpine passes on our way to Monza for the 2013 Italian Grand Prix. Following the GP we will undertake a short drive through Italy over the Dolomites and on to the beautiful Grand Palace Hotel Varese. Arriving by approx. 6pm we will get the chance to have a beer or two and chat about the GP in the hotel bar prior to a group dinner.

Mon 9 September (Lake Varese - Montreux)
A relaxed start will see us on the road for mid morning, driving through northern Italy prior to crossing into Switzerland via the awesome Grand St Bernard pass and on to Montreux, where we will be staying at the incredible 5* Fairmont Le Montreux Palace overlooking Lake Geneva.

Tue 10 September (Montreux - Home)
We will drive the most northerly part of the Alps prior to crossing the French border passing through Besancon, Dijon and finally home.
